    and commented on this dual treatment in J's work but on the scholarly front
    I dont know if anyone has made the clarifying and definitive argument on it.
    J's proposal however does raise some troublesome epistemological issues dont
    you think. The transhuman magnificence must not be too terribly "above and
    beyond us" otherwise J and his readers could not access it. A better dualism
    which I think J might approve of would be between those who think and those
    who don't. Death, sex and beauty work on some humans, move them around like
    puppets in a platonic scene, but J is claiming that he (and by implication
    some of his readers at least) can knowingly ride on these forces, on the
    tidal fires of creation
