    Hi folks:

My apologies for being out of the loop for a time. I've been enjoying getting the RJ Studies in the mail on a regular basis, which has kept me somewhat up to date on what's been happening. (In case you've forgotten me, I came and read poetry at the conference in '98--the one Dana Gioia keynoted--and did a position paper on Apology.)

Meanwhile, Alan Williamson has me doing a position paper on Freudian interpretations of Jeffers of all things. Perhaps I am missing the boat but looking over the bibliography I see very few pieces directly related to Jeffers-through-Freud--apart from Zaller's work and a couple of dissertations this seems like a dry avenue.

I did run across Bob Brophy's interesting rebuke to Freudian interpretations in an old RJ Newsletter. I'm curious what the current opinion is. Psychoanalytic theory is (mostly) passe in most literary circles these days--or so it seems to me. Is it the same with Jeffers studies?
